I hope everyone who came to the Zoo trip had a fantastic time! It was amazing. We got to have an extreme animals tour (the lions, tiger, markhors, elephants and rhinos were all out and playing). Then we had a polar bear keeper talk. The keeper tossed dead fish in their water, attracted all the live fish, which the polar bears then hunted. Finally, we got to see the OSU solar house, which is a compact but really cool house that is powered fully by solar. Then we got to hang out at the zoo!
I hope we can do something like this again, and that more people will be able to join us. It was really great to see the animals, but also sobering because so many of them are endangered...
SO, let's get to work on fundraising for the Trees for You and Me foundation! Each dollar donated goes to three seedlings, which helps counter act rising greenhouse gasses and climate change!
We already have about $200 to donate from bake sales. We can have more bake sales, and hopefully some other bigger events, such as the zoo light date raffle, and perhaps a Christmas cookie decorating benefit (cookies shaped like polar bears? I'm looking for a polar bear cookie cutter!
For the trees!
