UAHS Environmental Club and Tipping Point Renewable Energy Partner to Bring Solar to UA

We are pleased to announce that we are working with a local solar company named Tipping Point Renewable Energy to spread the word about bringing solar energy financing to Upper Arlington.

A recently passed Ohio legislation allows for municipalities to finance solar energy for their citizens and recoup the amount via property taxes.

This is a growing nationwide movement that goes by the name of PACE (Property Assisted Clean Energy) It helps to overcome one of the largest barriers to further solar adoption which is the high upfront costs.

We, in Upper Arlington, could lead the state and the nation by working to establish a program like this right here in our own city. We will be providing more details, education and events in the near future.

Governor Strickland Discusses Energy in State of the State speech

Governor Strickland spent a lot of time on advanced energy in his State of the State address on January 26, 2010. 

The Governor announced the creation of a $40 million "Energy Gateway Fund." The combination of state and federal funds will be used to help companies start or expand clean and advanced energy projects in Ohio.

The Governor also called for the suspension of Ohio’s tangible personal property tax on generation for wind and solar projects
